The Role You’ll Play
As the Director, Field Human Resources you will report to the Chief Human Resources Officer and will lead a team of field Human Resources Business partners while being a partner with functional leaders across the organization including Manufacturing, Operations, Sales, Finance & Accounting team to build a people-centered, and customer-focused work environment that values operational excellence, empowerment, collaboration, results orientation, safety, and respect for all team members.
As a pivotal member of the Human Resources leadership team, you’ll take on a dynamic, hands-on HR leadership role that goes beyond the ordinary. Partner closely with our Field Leadership team to shape an exceptional employee experience that inspires and empowers. You’ll lead the charge in areas like leadership development, performance management, team retention, wellness and recognition programs, talent assessment, and organizational design. Together, we’ll drive forward workplace culture transformation initiatives that set a new standard for excellence.
This position can work from City of Industry, CA or Sacramento, CA.
What You’ll Do
Lead, support, and mentor a team of Field HR Business Partners who will report directly to you, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and driving consistency in HR practices across regions to support field operations effectively.
You will provide guidance and coaching to Human Resources Business Partners and Field Leadership Team on change management, people-leadership, performance management, conflict management, and communications to advance our work environment and culture initiatives. You will create and execute training and development initiatives for the growth and development of team members.
Partner with the leadership team to assist with the development and execution of the Human Resources strategy, aligning with GWPG’s overall business goals and objectives.
Provide expertise in key areas, including talent assessment, employee relations/investigations, employee engagement, organization development, and performance management. Ensure excellence and compliance across all HR services.
Advise operational leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, and employee relations.
Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives to integrate HR practices into the operational framework, ensuring alignment across all locations.
Oversee the development and execution of proactive employee relations strategies, ensuring fair and consistent resolution of workplace issues, fostering positive employer-employee relationships, and mitigating organizational risk while maintaining compliance with labor laws and regulations.
Drive the development and continuous improvement of the Human Resources field team, fostering a high-performance culture and enabling the team to deliver outstanding, value-driven support.
Design, lead, and facilitate enterprise-wide training programs that align with business goals and promote leadership development. Partner with leadership to assess training needs and ensure programs are tailored to meet site-specific and organizational goals.

What You’ll Need
BS/BA degree in a related field; master’s degree preferred.
10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, with experience supporting senior leaders within manufacturing or industrial environments.
Demonstrated success in leading HR for multi-unit operations, preferably within the corrugated manufacturing or a related industry.
7 years of people-leadership with a proven ability to identify talent, build, and develop high performing teams.
Customer leadership with a focus on internal customer impact/value-add.
Steadfast resolve, personal integrity with strong work ethics and values with a strong bias for action and results.
Ability to effectively coach and advise senior line leaders on conflict-management, team building and development, communications, performance management, skill assessment, people-leadership decision making, and on compliance to all applicable local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
Demonstrated effective change management and project management skills.
Solid problems solving skills with a continuous learning and improvement mind-set
Business acumen with a solid understanding of contributing inputs/outputs to manufacturing business processes.
