Position Overview
As an Environmental Compliance Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring our clients meet all environmental and air-quality compliance requirements. This position combines fieldwork and reporting responsibilities — inspecting oil and gas facilities, detecting and documenting emissions, and assisting with regulatory submissions and communication.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) inspections using TVA-2020 and FLIR OGI cameras per Method 21.
• Identify, document, and verify fugitive emission sources in oil and gas facilities.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and communicate findings with operators and regulatory agencies.
• Assist in developing and maintaining component inventories, compliance records, and emission databases.
• Support clients during SJVAPCD and CalGEM inspections and prepare necessary compliance documentation.
• Develop Hazardous Materials Business Plans (HMBPs) and manage CERS profiles for facilities.
• Participate in field mapping and site audits for tanks, wellheads, vapor recovery systems, and related equipment.
• Stay up-to-date on new environmental regulations and help clients adapt to changing requirements.
• Collaborate with GVE’s internal team to ensure all projects meet deadlines, accuracy standards, and safety expectations.

Qualifications
Required:
• High school diploma or GED
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in the field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic understanding of environmental regulations or willingness to learn.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and around industrial equipment.
• Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred:
• Prior experience in environmental compliance, LDAR, or oil and gas operations.
• Familiarity with SJVAPCD Rules 4623, 4624, and 4409, or similar regulations.
• Experience using TVA analyzers, OGI cameras, or emission monitoring equipment.
• Technical background or interest in GIS mapping, CERS, or environmental software tools.
