Golden Valley Charter School, a Waldorf-inspired public charter school located in Orangevale, California, anticipates 1–2 openings for Middle School Teachers (Grades 6–8). We are seeking thoughtful, creative educators to join our dynamic and collaborative team and support students during the important developmental years of middle school. Our middle school program is rooted in a whole-child, Waldorf-inspired approach, where teachers integrate strong academic instruction with artistic, experiential, and hands-on learning. We are looking for educators who can balance academic rigor with creativity, structure with flexibility, and high expectations with meaningful relationships. The Middle School Teacher will provide engaging instruction in core academic subjects while supporting students’ social-emotional development and fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and a genuine love of learning. This is a unique opportunity to teach in an environment where students are truly known, learning is meaningful, and teachers are empowered to bring curriculum to life. Primary Responsibilities -Deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with grade-level standards and Waldorf-inspired practices -Create lessons that foster critical thinking, creativity, and student voice -Build a structured, respectful classroom environment that supports adolescent development -Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs and 504 plans -Monitor student progress and use assessment data to inform instruction -Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive middle school experience -Communicate regularly with families and support strong home-school partnerships -Participate in school events, field trips, and community-building activities -Support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth during a pivotal developmental stage Skills & Qualifications -Valid California Teaching Credential (Multiple Sub

Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential required. Our ideal candidate has a creative spirit, a strong sense of self and a willingness to work in collaboration with our community and servant-leader Principals to help our schools grow and thrive. As a Public Waldorf School we do not require a Waldorf Teaching Certificate but do want our candidates to have knowledge of and a respect for the Pedagogy. We do ask that our teachers work towards obtaining the Waldorf Teaching Certificate and our Educational Foundation helps cover the cost for Teachers in the training program.
