About the Role
We are seeking a Service Center Buyer to join our team in Bloomfield, CT. This is an entry to intermediate-level procurement opportunity for someone who is organized, proactive, and enjoys working with suppliers and cross-functional teams to keep operations running smoothly.
The Buyer will be responsible for managing purchasing activities, ensuring timely material availability, supporting supplier performance, and helping minimize supply disruptions.
What You'll Do
🔹 Create, manage, and maintain purchase orders (POs)
🔹 Monitor supplier commitments and ensure on-time delivery
🔹 Expedite critical orders and resolve material shortages
🔹 Manage order acknowledgements, reschedules, cancellations, and changes
🔹 Act as a key point of contact for assigned suppliers
🔹 Build strong supplier relationships and address delivery, quality, and invoice issues
🔹 Partner with Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Warehouse, and Finance teams
🔹 Identify and communicate supply risks and recovery actions
🔹 Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and supplier transitions
🔹 Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier information
🔹 Contribute to process improvements, cost control, and inventory optimization
