Overview
We are seeking a skilled Arabic Interpreter to facilitate clear and accurate communication between Arabic-speaking clients and healthcare, social services, or legal professionals. This role requires a highly bilingual individual with strong interpretation, translation, and documentation review skills. The ideal candidate will possess experience in medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and social work settings. The Arabic Interpreter plays a vital role in ensuring culturally sensitive communication while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism across various environments, including hospitals, child protective services, and community agencies.
Responsibilities
- Provide real-time interpretation between Arabic-speaking clients and English-speaking professionals in medical, legal, or social service settings.
- Translate documents, medical records, and reports accurately while preserving the original meaning and context.
- Assist with documentation review to ensure completeness and compliance with organizational standards.
- Support communication during patient assessments, social work interviews, or legal proceedings with precise interpretation of complex terminology.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate effective communication and service delivery.
- Utilize American Sign Language skills if applicable to support diverse client needs.
- Document interpreted sessions thoroughly for record-keeping purposes.
Experience
- Multilingual proficiency in Arabic and English is required; additional language skills such as American Sign Language are a plus.
- Proven experience in interpretation within healthcare or social services environments preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and medical records management is highly desirable.
- Experience working with child protective services, hospital settings, or social work agencies is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and professionally.
