Essential Job Duties:
- RT must make regular rounds, supervise resident’s oxygen equipment, changing humidifiers, and inspecting respiratory therapy equipment on a time basis.
- Performs pulmonary function studies determining volume, distribution, and movement of air in residents respiratory system.
- Performs chest physical therapy treatments involving percussion, postural drainage, and suctioning in order to mobilize secretions and mucus in lungs and to clear airway blockage in respiratory system.
- Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators, following specified parameters of treatment. Conducts physician prescribed treatments of a routine nature operating Intermittent Positive Pressure Breathing (IPPB) Machine, various oxygen devices, nebulizer and ultrasonic nebulizer in order to administer prescribed medicinal vapors and gases, humidity, and various oxygen concentrations to resident’s respiratory system.
- Graduation from approved Respiratory Therapy program preferred
- 1 year experience treating multiple patients
- Must have current Basic Life Support certification
- Must be able to work under stress and in emergency situations
- Experience with Point Click Care (PPC)
- Ability to project a professional image.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
- Subacute experience preferred
Salary : $30 - $35
