GRF’s approximately 250 full-time, part-time and part-time/on-call employees provide a huge variety of services including maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping, golf course maintenance, recreation, lifeguarding, fitness training, vehicle repair, accounting, insurance and purchasing.
Golf Pro Shop Assistant
The Golden Rain Foundation is currently recruiting for a Part-Time (20-31/hr a week) Assistant in the Golf Pro Shop. Under general supervision, this position performs general customer service tasks in the Golf Pro Shop. Activities may include and are not limited to, interacting with residents and guests, in person and on the phone; answering questions; providing information and direction; making sales transaction (finding appropriate merchandise, handling cash, etc.); organizing golf carts for rental, placing reservations for lessons and tee times; running the front counter and checking in players to play golf.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with timely opening and closing of golf shop.
- Provide exceptional customer service to residents with a professional and helpful manner both in person and by telephone, timely completion of paperwork, etc.
- Accept golf reservations in person and by telephone in a friendly, accurate and professional manner.
- Organize and manage customers/golfers as they arrive, pay, and begin their golf play (“starting”).
- Handle all transactions, including computer and paper records, in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Follow Foundation guidelines in handling all cash and payments to accurately complete financial transactions with individual customers, groups, and tournaments.
- Receive, price, and display merchandise; track inventory, etc.
- Learn and follow all Golden Rain rules and regulations as they pertain to Golf.
- Other duties as assigned falling within the purview of the Director of Golf.
Qualifications:
- High school graduation, GED or other recognized equivalent;
- Understanding, skills and/or experiences necessary to meet the purpose of this position as described in the Job Summary.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions correctly and completely;
- Excellent customer service skills, both in person and on the telephone;
- Able to work a varying, flexible schedule of 20-31/hrs a week, from 6:30am to 7:00pm, seven days a week;
- Able to accurately use computer, cash register and other office equipment;
- Be a true team player with the ability to interact appropriately with senior residents, visitors, and guests.
Additional Requirements:
- Clean and valid California driver license and satisfactory driving record are conditions of initial and continued employment.
- Ability to meet the Dept. of Homeland Security requirements confirming identity and right to work in the United States is required.
- Offer is contingent upon satisfactorily passing pre-employment physical, drug test and physical capabilities assessment.
- Previous employment must be verifiable.
