Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and process new resident admissions.
- Gather and verify required admission paperwork, insurance information, and medical records.
- Communicate with hospitals, case managers, referral sources, residents, and family members regarding admissions.
- Maintain accurate resident files and admission records.
- Enter resident information into the facility's electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations when applicable.
- Schedule admission appointments and welcome new residents and their families.
- Assist with resident room assignments and communicate admission details to appropriate departments.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility admission regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Provide administrative support to the Admissions Director and leadership team as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- Previous experience in healthcare, long-term care, admissions, customer service, or administrative support preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes is a plus.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic health record systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
