Position Summary
Golden Heart Companion Care is seeking compassionate, dependable, and caring individuals to provide non-medical companionship and support to clients in their homes. The Home Care Companion helps clients maintain their independence, comfort, safety, and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
- Prepare simple meals and assist with meal planning as needed.
- Provide medication reminders as directed by the care plan.
- Assist with errands, shopping, and other routine activities.
- Accompany clients to appointments, activities, or community outings when appropriate.
- Encourage social interaction and recreational activities.
- Assist with personal routines within the scope of the position and applicable regulations.
- Observe and report changes in a client's condition, behavior, or needs to the appropriate supervisor or family member.
- Maintain client privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
- Follow the client's care plan and Golden Heart Companion Care policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and trustworthy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a care team.
- Previous caregiving, companion care, home care, or senior-care experience is preferred.
- Ability to pass required background checks and meet company hiring requirements.
- Reliable transportation may be required depending on the client's needs and assignment.
Physical Requirements
The position may require standing, walking, bending, lifting light household items, and assisting clients with routine activities, depending on the individual client's care plan and applicable job requirements.
Schedule
Part-time and/or full-time positions available, depending on client needs and caregiver availability.
