Description
Summary:
Responsible for the day to day operation and direct supervision of all activities within the Finance department. Ensure daily operations and experiences meet guest expectations. Appropriately respond to and manage any escalated departmental concerns and guest and/or team member challenges.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Manage the process and work flow of the fixed asset department
- Review transactions to ensure proper expense or capitalization in accordance with Company policies and GAAP
- Record transactions to the Company’s fixed asset software
- Prepare reports and Journal Entries on a monthly basis to record acquisitions, disposals, depreciation and gains
- Assist tax preparers in calculating related tax depreciation
- Analyze and review balance sheet accounts to assure accuracy in the GL and ensures that variances are accounted
- Prepare personal property tax returns and license reports for various jurisdictions.
- Prepare special financial reports as needed
- Assist outside auditors when necessary
- Prepare adjusting entries for the next month to correct any variances if necessary
- Ad Hoc training for staff accountants to ensure proper procedures are met
- Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, as they apply to the position
- Assist upper management in CapEx CEAR reporting
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related area from a four-year college or university, or four to six years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of accounting and the ability to understand and utilize correctly the principals of debits and credits
- Prior experience in general ledger and fixed asset accounting is required
- Prior experience in Sage Fixed Assets or similar enterprise fixed asset software highly desirable.
- Highly proficient in Excel
- Must be able to multi-task, react quickly and efficiently and have a flexible schedule
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both written and oral
- Must be able to interact with diverse groups effectively
- At least 21 years of age
- Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
