Description
Summary: Responsible for the strategic and day to day operations of the Surveillance department. Oversees the monitoring of unusual and illegal activities throughout the property and reports such activity as required. Completes and conducts ongoing training regarding all casino table games, slots, internal theft, fraud awareness programs, Nevada gaming regulations, minimum internal controls, case file management and surveillance standard operating procedures.
Essential Functions
- Hires, promotes, trains, disciplines, schedules, directs, terminates, measure performance and develops surveillance staff
- Prepare and review reports and documents, and distribute them to the proper recipients.
- Responsible for preparing and following department’s financial budget and business plan
- Utilizes approved and necessary equipment to identify, record, document and report illegal and unusual activities occurring in all gaming areas, non-gaming areas and back of the house
- Reports all illegal and unusual activities to the appropriate authorities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations
- Assist department heads with special projects, as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- At least three years of experience working in gaming surveillance systems operations
- Must possess thorough knowledge of Gaming Minimum Internal Casino Standards, local jurisdictional gaming laws, and Nevada Revised Statutes
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to find common sense solutions to problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Able to communicate in a group setting as well as one-on-one situations
- Previous experience using computers, including knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure

- Vision, hearing, speech and literacy (critical)
- Ability to remain in sitting position (over 75% of the time)
- Ability to move throughout the casino floor (less than 25 % of the time)
- Maintain concentrated attention to detail for sustained periods
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Working indoors in a smoky, noisy, dark environment
