Description
Summary: Takes, retrieves and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages courteously and efficiently according to job specification. Answers guest questions and provides outstanding guest service.
Essential Functions
- Inspect cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas; rectify any deficiencies.
- Greet guests and take their orders. Anticipate guest’s needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non alcoholic selections available.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by the state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minor and intoxicated persons.
- Be familiar with all hotel services/ features and provide information to guests, as needed
- Answers guest questions, as needed
- Legibly document orders when POS is down and distribute orders to respective Bartender for preparation of order.
- Retrieve orders from Bar area and serve promptly to guests
- Replace ashtrays within the Pit with 4 butts with clean ashtray by using capping method.
- Follow all Clark County Health Codes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Previous experience as a beverage server
- One year experience as a beverage server in a bar, lounge, or hotel/casino environment preferred
- Compute quickly and accurately basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers)
- Ability to use computers and calculators
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- At least 21 years of age
- Alcohol Awareness
- Health
- Walk, stand or stoop up to 100% of time.
- Walk, stand, and/or crouch on narrow and/or slippery surfaces.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
- Use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
- Working inside in a noisy, smoky, and hot or cold environment
- Literacy, speech, vision, and hearing (critical)
