We’re looking for a Social Media Content Specialist who can bring our clients’ brands to life across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms. About the Role
As a Social Media Content Specialist, you’ll shape how our clients show up online by creating scroll-stopping content that blends cultural fluency, storytelling, humor, and sharp strategy. You’ll work closely with our creative strategists, editors, and account team to ideate, shoot, edit, and polish content that drives attention and measurable growth.
You’re a fit if you’re hands-on, scrappy, collaborative, and fearless about taking creative swings. You know how to inject personality into brands without losing the strategy behind the content.
What You'll Do
- Concept, film, edit, and polish high-performing short-form content across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
- Bring GEM’s creative direction and each client’s brand personality to life through witty, bold, optimistic, sunny-side-up storytelling
- Participate in brainstorms and pitch concepts that feel smart, timely, and culturally relevant
- Stay ahead of trends, audios, formats, edits, meme culture, and cultural moments—and help clients join the conversation in ways that stand out
- Coordinate and execute both scrappy and structured content shoots
- Keep content libraries, assets, and shoot materials organized and up to date
- Collaborate with editors, strategists, and account managers to ensure content ladders up to brand strategy and client goals
- Support performance reporting by sharing insights about what’s working (and what needs a re-crack)
What We're Looking For
- Based in New York City (required; this is an in-person role)
- 2 years of experience in social media, content creation, or digital marketing
- Strong understanding of TikTok and Instagram culture, editing styles, and what makes content go viral
- Proficiency in video editing (CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, or similar)
- Comfortable on camera and able to deliver personality with confidence
- Excellent creative instincts and the ability to turn raw ideas into polished content
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and fast-moving
- Positive, collaborative, and able to adapt in a high-volume, high-speed environment
- Experience working with influencers or creators is a plus
- Familiarity with AI tools (ChatGPT, Midjourney, etc.) for ideation and workflow efficiency

Compensation
$65,000–$85,000 base pay annually, depending on experience.
Includes 15 days of PTO, paid holidays, and bonus pay opportunities.
