Job Summary

Golden Eagle Charter School is seeking a dedicated Paraeducator to support Independent Study students in grades 2–12 at our Mt. Shasta and Yrkea campuses and possibly through online instruction. This position plays a key role in supporting students’ math and reading/writing learning and may also work to assist teachers who lead our online math classes. Key Responsibilities: Provide academic support and tutoring for Independent Study students in small-group and one-on-one. Facilitate online math and ELA labs and tutoring sessions to reinforce key skills and concepts. Collaborate closely with 2nd–12th grade math teachers to support instruction, assignments, and student progress. Assist teachers with Independent Study documentation and recordkeeping. Utilize technology effectively, including Google Suite, Zoom, and online learning platforms. Qualifications: Strong math proficiency, including the ability to assist with high school–level math concepts. AA/AS Degree or higher required. Proficiency with technology tools such as Google Suite and video conferencing platforms. Reliable transportation to the Mt. Shasta and Yreka campus. Dependable, organized, and committed to supporting student learning and growth. This is a part-time position (30–35 hours per week) supporting students in a flex-based learning environment. GECS offers paraprofessionals opportunities to obtain a BA in Global Education through Reach University. Students who qualify only pay $75/month to obtain a BA. Opportunities for staff who have received a BA to work as a teacher intern while obtaining a teaching credential may also available.
