Golden Anvil Manufacturing · Decatur, IL · Full-time Technical Project Coordinator – Switchgear Manufacturing

About Golden Anvil-

Golden Anvil Manufacturing designs and builds custom power distribution equipment for mission-critical facilities. Our product line includes:

  • Low-voltage switchboards up to 600V, built to UL 891
  • Metal-clad medium-voltage switchgear from 5kV to 38kV, built to ANSI/IEEE C37.20.2
  • Metal-enclosed medium-voltage switchgear up to 38kV, built to ANSI/IEEE C37.20.3
  • Arc-resistant construction to IEEE C37.20.7, per customer specification (confirm)

Our customers include hyperscale and AI data center developers, industrial facilities, utilities, and the electrical contractors who build for them. Every order is engineered to the customer's specification and goes through design, build, factory testing, and witness testing before it ships. We're a growing team in Decatur, Illinois, building our processes and our people from the ground up.

The Role-

This role combines project coordination with hands-on engineering support on the production floor. You'll keep information moving between project management, engineering, the warehouse, and production. You'll also be the first technical resource the floor turns to when an engineering question comes up during a build. You'll answer what you can and work directly with our engineering team on the rest. When something gets in the way, you'll help clear it and come back with an answer and a date. This role reports to the Project Manager.

What You'll Do-

Project Coordination

  • Share daily project plans and job priorities with production team leads
  • Send pull lists to the warehouse early enough for kits to be staged before the morning meeting
  • Support the daily production meeting
  • Collect status updates, documentation, and obstacles from team leads, and keep job records current
  • Take floor issues to the Project Manager, help solve them, and bring the answer back with a date
  • Follow up with purchasing on parts that are short, late, or incorrect
  • Keep schedules, job folders, and trackers accurate in our ERP and project tools

Production Engineering Support

  • Be the first point of contact on the floor for engineering questions about drawings, wiring, bus work, component layout, and build details
  • Interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings for assemblers and team leads
  • Check drawings and BOMs against what's being built, and catch discrepancies before they become rework
  • Resolve routine technical questions on the spot, and escalate design issues to engineering with clear, complete information
  • Help troubleshoot build and test issues alongside production and testing leads

Engineering Liaison

  • Serve as the day-to-day link between the production floor and the engineering team
  • Coordinate drawing releases, submittals, redlines, and engineering change notices (ECNs) so the floor always builds to the current revision
  • Capture field and floor redlines and send them back to engineering for as-built updates
  • Support factory acceptance testing (FAT), customer witness tests, punch lists, and as-built documentation packages

Required Qualifications-

  • 5 years in project coordination, production engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a similar technical role, ideally in an engineered-to-order manufacturing environment
  • A degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering or engineering technology, or equivalent hands-on engineering experience
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and BOMs
  • Practical understanding of how electrical equipment is built, wired, and tested
  • Comfortable on a production floor and able to speak technically with both engineers and assemblers
  • Organized and persistent: you follow up without being asked and always close the loop
  • A clear, respectful communicator who works through team leads, not around them
  • Strong skills in Excel or Google Sheets

Preferred Qualifications-

  • Direct experience with switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, transformers, motor control, or power distribution equipment
  • Working knowledge of UL 891, ANSI/IEEE C37.20, NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 70E, or ISO 9001
  • Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks, or EPLAN
  • ERP experience (Odoo, Epicor, Sage, or similar)
  • Experience with FAT, customer witness testing, or documentation turnover

What's In It for You-

  • A ground-floor role at a growing manufacturer, where you'll help shape how we run projects and support production
  • Direct access to leadership and the engineering team
  • Compensation: $80,000–$110,000 based on experience, plus benefits
