Summary:
Goldbelt C6, Inc. is seeking a responsible and professional Data Scientist to provide technical and analytical support to the Data and Analytics Visualization (DAV) Team under the National Wastewater Surveillance System (NWSS) program. This position will be instrumental in advancing the completion of the Public NWSS and Improved Dashboard. This dashboard is a key deliverable that will demonstrate the capabilities of the 1CDP Platform for our federal partners (i.e., DoD, FDA, etc.), and other external partners not currently sending data to the 1CDP platform. The data scientist will work closely with the DAV subject matter experts (SMEs) to optimize data analytics workflows and enhance visualization efficiency, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.

Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide technical oversight and analytics support to finalize the public NWSS and Improved Dashboard
- Enhance data visualization capabilities within the DAV Team to support 1CDP platform demonstration efforts
- Partner with the BAH RREDI team to document and streamline technical processes for continuity beyond the contract period
- Improve overall efficiency and technical readiness of the DAV Team in preparation for upcoming federal engagements
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Self-motivator, attention to details, and ability to communicate with CDC staff across the agency
- Proficiency in with the following: Python, R, or SQL, JSON, D3, Javascript, Tableau, Power BI, HTML, React, Angular, etc.
- Familiarity with database management systems and cloud platforms
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Master’s degree in public health administration, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Project Support
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in data visualization and analysis, preferably in the health sector
- Experience with web development, including front-end and back-end technologies
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
