What are the responsibilities and job description for the Founding Columnist position at Gold Standards Media?
Gold Standards Magazine is hiring four Founding Columnists.
We are currently building the inaugural editorial team for four recurring cultural review columns:
• The Screening Room (film)
• The Reading Corner (books)
• The Listening Bar (music)
• The Tasting Lounge (restaurants / culinary work)
Each column will highlight examples of excellence from independent creators around the world — filmmakers, self-published authors, emerging musicians, and new startup chefs whose work reflects both timeless values and timely relevance.
These are not conventional review columns.
They are intended to become places where readers discover serious work before it becomes widely known.
Gold Standards Magazine is a quarterly digital publication for entrepreneurs building category-leading businesses. Alongside strategy and leadership writing, each issue will include curated cultural criticism that helps develop taste, judgment, and attention — the inner disciplines behind meaningful achievement.
We are looking for reviewers who:
• are attentive readers, listeners, or viewers of independent work
• care deeply about quality and craftsmanship
• are excited to discover overlooked excellence
• write with clarity, respect, and discernment
• already maintain (or would like to build) a serious review platform of their own (Substack, YouTube, blog, etc.)
Each Founding Columnist will contribute four ~600-word reviews during the magazine’s first year (Summer through Spring).
Contributors may adapt reviews from their own platforms into magazine form.
An honorarium of $100 will be provided at the conclusion of the first year (Spring 2027), with opportunities for expanded editorial roles and increased compensation as the magazine grows.
This role is global and remote.
