Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Clerk plays a vital role at Godwins Gatorland, Inc. ensuring all vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and payment obligations are recorded and processed timely and accurately.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Receive and process vendor invoices, reviewing for accuracy, proper department approval, and the correct general ledger coding.
- Record invoices into the accounting system at time of receipt.
- Ensure timely payment of invoices based on the company policy and vendor terms.
- Maintain and update vendor records, W-9 forms, and other related tax documents.
- Prepare and process weekly check runs and ACH payments.
- Assist in month-end close processes including month-end accruals.
- Prepare and process 1099-MISC/1099-NEC annually.
- Monitor the accounts payable aging reports, following up on outstanding checks or vendor credits.
- Routinely file invoices and manage the year-end document storage process for the accounting department.
- Resolve vendor inquires and/or disputes.
- Perform other duties, as needed, requested by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
- 1-2 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel); experience with Acumatica is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
