Tow Truck Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Tow Truck Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently towing vehicles, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring all operations comply with safety standards. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism. The Tow Truck Operator plays a vital role in maintaining the flow of traffic and assisting customers in need.

Duties

• Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and other specialized vehicles, to transport vehicles safely.
• Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or winches.
• Conduct automotive diagnostics and basic mechanical assessments to determine the best towing method.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on tow trucks to ensure safety and operational readiness.
• Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients, explaining procedures, and addressing concerns professionally.
• Manage conflict situations calmly and efficiently, ensuring customer satisfaction while adhering to company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of all towing activities, including vehicle details, locations, and times.
• Follow all safety protocols during vehicle recovery operations to prevent accidents or injuries.
• Assist with additional tasks such as vehicle repair or mechanical troubleshooting when necessary.

Experience

• Prior experience operating tow trucks, especially flatbeds or similar heavy-duty vehicles.
• Automotive diagnostics knowledge and mechanical skills are highly desirable.
• Experience with manual transmissions, automotive repair, or mechanic work is a plus.
• Commercial driving experience with a valid driver's license is required; CDL certification is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with conflict management techniques to handle difficult situations effectively.
• Skills in operating forklifts or other lifting equipment are advantageous.
• Proven ability to load & unload vehicles safely and efficiently while maintaining customer service excellence. This position offers an engaging work environment where safety, technical skills, and customer interaction are key components of daily responsibilities.

Pay: $ $75.00 per hour

Expected hours: 72.0 per week
