Program Description: Goddard Riverside is a well-established Manhattan community-based agency with an annual operating budget of approximately $ 50 million. Goddard Riverside is one of New York City’s leading human service organizations meeting the basic needs of children, youth and families, homeless people, and older adults across Manhattan and New York City.
Position Summary: A maintenance professional who travels between multiple locations (like apartments, commercial buildings, or properties within a larger area) to perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliance repair, painting, and minor repairs, often responding to urgent needs and completing preventative maintenance schedules across different sites.
Schedule: Monday - Friday (9am - 5pm)
Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000
Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate’s number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.

Role, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties
- Responsible for supporting Assistant Director of Operations and Facilities Management the upkeep, and repair of Goddard Riverside 32 and growing program locations.
- Completing minor repairs to plumbing fixtures, electrical outlets, doors, windows, drywall, flooring, and more across multiple properties.
- Performing routine inspections and maintenance tasks like checking HVAC systems, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and appliance functionality.
- Responding to urgent maintenance issues like water leaks, power outages, and malfunctioning appliances outside of regular working hours.
- Completing repairs and cleaning in vacant units to prepare them for new tenants.
- Interacting with residents or property managers to address maintenance concerns and provide updates on repair status.
- Performing tasks like door and cabinet repairs, trim installation, and minor wood patching.
- Touch-up painting, patching small holes, and addressing minor drywall damage
- Fixing minor electrical issues like light switch replacements and addressing simple plumbing leaks
- Keeping track of necessary tools, supplies, and parts for repairs
- Support janitorial staff as needed with snow removal and other large jobs as needed.
- Responsible for filling in onsite in the event of same day maintenance staff call outs.
- Proficiency in basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general repairs
- Diagnosing issues and finding efficient solutions to repair problems
- Effectively communicating with residents and property managers to address concerns
- Prioritizing tasks and completing repairs efficiently within deadlines
- Valid driver's license preferred but not required
- OSHA Training preferred not required
- High School Diploma or equivalent, bachelor's degree preferred
- Maintenance Certifications CMRT(Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician) ,CAMT( Certified for Apartment Maintenance Technicians), CMM(Certified Manager of Maintenance) or equivalent preferred
- Two years’ experience preferred
- Intermediate carpentry, plumbing, electrical, hvac and general maintenance skills
- Excellent written, verbal communication skills
- Basic Microsoft office skills
- Able to work independently or in a group
- Detail oriented
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work indoors and outdoors as needed
- Able to work around loud noise, or in extreme weather
- Able to travel to multiple sites daily as needed
- Able to perform essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds or more as required.
- Able to work weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job.
