Janitor/Cleaner

Overview

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented individual to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and inventory of our convenience store and gas station. In this dual role, you will ensure our facility is pristine—both inside the store and out at the pumps—while also keeping our walk-in beverage coolers fully stocked, organized, and ready for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

Cooler Stocking & Inventory Management:

• Walk-in Cooler Loading: Work inside the walk-in cooler to stock shelves with beverages, milk, beer, and other chilled products from the back.
• First-In, First-Out (FIFO): Rotate stock carefully so that older products are pulled to the front and newer inventory is placed in the back to minimize waste and expired items.
• Fronting & Organizing: Keep beverage doors neatly aligned ("faced" and "fronted") so labels point forward and shelves look full.
• Delivery Organizing: Help break down incoming beverage deliveries and neatly stage backstock crates and boxes inside the cooler storage area.

Indoor Maintenance:

• Restroom Sanitation: Clean, disinfect, and restock restrooms multiple times daily (sinks, toilets, mirrors, floors, and dispensers).
• Floor Care: Sweep, mop, and spot-clean sales floor areas and entrance ways. Respond quickly to accidental spills.
• Surface Cleaning: Wipe down and sanitize high-touch areas including countertops, food service areas, coffee stations, and door handles.
• Trash Removal: Empty all indoor trash and recycling bins, replacing liners as needed.

Outdoor & Forecourt Maintenance:

• Pump & Island Cleaning: Wipe down fuel dispensers, clean up small fluid spills, and ensure windshield washing buckets are filled with clean solution and squeegees.
• Lot Cleanliness: Sweep the parking lot, sidewalk, and patio areas. Pick up litter and empty outdoor trash receptacles.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience in retail stocking, janitorial work, or commercial cleaning is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
• Cold Environment Tolerance: Ability to work comfortably inside a walk-in cooler (temperatures typically between 34°F and 38°F) for extended periods. (Warm jackets/layers are recommended).
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and safely lift up to 50 lbs consistently (such as heavy beverage crates or trash bags).
• Reliability: Strong time-management skills, punctuality, and the ability to manage your time between cleaning duties and stocking needs.

Pay: $11.00 - $12.00 per hour
