What are the responsibilities and job description for the Investor Relations Associate position at Goanna Capital Management?
About Goanna Capital
Goanna Capital invests in the most ambitious technology companies shaping the future of AI, SaaS, cloud, and frontier innovation. Our portfolio includes category-defining leaders such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Ramp, Rippling, and Neuralink.
The Role
We are looking for a hungry, road-ready IR professional who has spent the last 3-5 years inside a top-tier venture capital or growth equity. You will be expected to travel frequently, schedule 5-15 calls per day, cover LPs and work on CRM/email copies, investor materials and build a pipeline of investor contacts.
You will work directly and closely with our Managing Partner on everything from LP strategy to fundraising execution to day-to-day investor communications. The right person has come up through a top-tier venture or growth equity firm and is ready to own IR at one of the most exciting firms in private markets.
What Makes This Role Different
- You will work directly with Goanna's Founder and Managing Partner. This is high-visibility from day one.
- LP relationships are yours to own - not just service. You are building rapport, getting on-site, getting people onto text, and making sure every LP feels like a priority.
- This role involves significant global travel - you will regularly meet LPs and prospective investors across the US, Europe, and the Middle East.
What You'll Do:
LP Relationship Management & Funnel
- Build and deepen relationships with existing LPs through regular in-person meetings, dinners, and on-site visits - globally.
- Proactively identify relationship gaps and close them.
- Comfortable building large lists of investor contacts for cold emailing.
- Long hours building relationships with new LPs, servicing LPs and cold emailing.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for LP questions, requests, and ongoing communications between formal reporting periods.
- Represent Goanna at LP events, conferences, and firm meetings across the US, Europe, and Middle East.
Fundraising
- Own the full due diligence process for prospective LPs - data room management, track record preparation, custom analyses, and in-person meetings.
- Develop benchmark comparisons and competitive positioning materials for new fundraises.
- Build and work through large prospect lists with rigor - identify patterns, prioritize outreach, and convert relationships into commitments.
- Support virtual and in-person due diligence meetings with comprehensive, well-prepared materials.
Reporting & Investor Communications
- Own the creation and distribution of quarterly LP letters - clear, compelling, and consistent.
- Lead quarterly and annual LP reporting processes end-to-end.
- Produce regular portfolio updates and market commentary to keep investors engaged between formal reporting periods.
- Manage ad-hoc LP data requests with speed and precision.
What We're Looking For
- 3-5 years in investor relations at a venture capital or growth equity firm.
- Proven track record building and managing LP relationships directly - you have been in the room, not just processing requests behind the scenes.
- Comfortable and energized by heavy travel - this is a feature of the role, not a burden.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to craft compelling quarterly letters and LP narratives from complex portfolio data.
- Fluency in private markets mechanics - fund structures, valuations, waterfall calculations, IRR/MOIC, and ILPA guidelines.
- Experience managing fundraising due diligence cycles and working through large prospect lists with rigor.
- High energy, ownership mentality, and the drive to build something - not just maintain it.
Why Goanna
You will be working directly with leadership at one of the fastest-growing firms in private markets, with access to the most coveted portfolio in venture. If you want to own IR at a firm that is building something real - and you are ready to hit the road and do what it takes to build relationships at the highest level - this is the role.
Competitive salary and performance-based bonus. Real room to grow.
