We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fertilizer Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to lawn care and pest control maintenance. It is a hands-on position that requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and the capacity to operate safely in outdoor environments—including extreme weather conditions, particularly heat.

General Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare recipes, solutions, and equipment in a safe manner to provide appropriate fertilizer application rates for proper crop development.
- Mix, spray, and/or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides using hand or automatic sprayers, spreaders, and chemigation units.
- Fill sprayer tanks with water and chemicals according to formulas.
- Install and calibrate liquid fertilizer equipment at pivot centers, ensuring accurate application per field.
- Handle, transport, store, and dispose of chemicals safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Service and maintain fertilizer pumps and application equipment for optimal operation.
- Monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure machinery is working properly.
- Direct spray nozzles, hoses, and tubes across designated areas.
- Apply pesticides with consideration for weather, droplet sizes, elevation, and obstructions.
- Start motors and engage spray equipment such as agitators and pumps.
- Connect hoses and nozzles based on terrain, application pattern, and pest control needs.
- Clean and service machinery using water, gasoline, lubricants, and hand tools to ensure efficiency.
- Maintain current MSDS information and product labels on all chemicals used.

Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (preferred).
- Vocational school training, Associate’s degree, or related on-the-job experience (preferred).
- College coursework in mathematics, chemistry, biology, or related fields is beneficial.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience with fertigation and chemigation practices.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must hold a current Commercial Applicator License.
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Education or training may substitute for prior work experience.
Work Conditions
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions including rain, wind, and extreme heat.
- Requires lifting, carrying, and handling hoses and sprayer equipment.
- Must wear appropriate protective equipment when handling fertilizers and chemicals.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $32.00 per hour
