What You’ll Do (Machine Operator Responsibilities)
This is a role for experienced machine operators only. You will be responsible for safely operating industrial machinery used in metal processing and material preparation.
Primary Duties
- Set up, operate, and monitor metal‑processing machinery (shears, saws, slitters, rollers, or CNC‑assisted equipment).
- Read and interpret machining blueprints, cut sheets, and production orders.
- Perform machine adjustments, tooling changes, and quality checks throughout the shift.
- Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures) to verify tolerances.
- Load and unload materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, or sideloaders.
- Maintain accurate production logs and update the Maintenance Connect system for inventory and workflow tracking.
- Inspect finished materials for defects, accuracy, and quality standards.
- Perform basic machine troubleshooting and report mechanical issues immediately.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with all safety procedures.

Required Skills & Experience
- Prior experience operating industrial machinery in a manufacturing or metal‑processing environment.
- Ability to read machining blueprints and production drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Familiarity with forklifts, overhead cranes, and material‑handling equipment.
- Basic computer/data entry skills for updating production systems.
- Ability to lift, move, and position heavy materials safely.
- Dependable, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
Training & Mentorship
- Standard safety training before equipment exposure
- Facility tour covering machinery, tools, and production flow
- Ongoing support from supervisors and senior operators
