What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grinder 2nd-shift position at Go McPherson?
Job Description- $20 per hour with a $2 shift differencial.
- Inspect a wide variety of commercial and manufactured parts for compliance with engineering specifications and company standards
- Verify correct product using job traveler
- Use inspection methodology and record all results including precision measuring tools
- Interpret complex drawings, process sheets, and company standards
- Work with quality and management departments for any manufacturing issues/defects
- Monitor machine performance and perform preventative maintenance to assure continuity of production
- Read part drawing with sectional views
- Maintain plant standards in areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, 5S, housekeeping, teamwork, and attendance
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be willing to learn
- Mechanical aptitude
- Blueprint reading ability required
- Precision measuring tools required
- Dependable, honest, quick learner, effective communication skills and team player
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including any days, shift, and weekends to ensure that the customer demand is met
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-3 years of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
