The Role
We are looking for a hands on, business minded Financial Controller to lead and elevate the finance function for Gnomon in North America.
This is not a back office reporting role. This is a strategic finance leadership position at the heart of one of the most respected creative schools in the world.
You will report directly to the CEO of Gnomon with a functional reporting line to the Group CFO to ensure financial stability, operational rigor, and long term growth.
Your mandate is simple and ambitious: Build a world class finance operation that supports creative excellence and sustainable profitability.
What You Will Own
1. Accounting & Consolidation
- Ensure the production of accurate and reliable financial statements in US GAAP
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
- Manage statutory accounts and compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements
- Harmonize accounting processes with Groupe EDH standards
- Lead relationships with external auditors, accountants, and insurers
- Continuously improve systems, reporting quality, and financial transparency
2. Financial Planning & Management Control
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with leadership
- Produce clear monthly reporting, including variance analysis and actionable insights
- Provide deep financial analysis to inform strategic decisions
- Implement and refine budget tracking and performance dashboards
- Support enrollment, revenue, and cost modeling initiatives
You will help leadership see around corners, not just look in the rearview mirror.
3. Treasury & Banking
- Oversee cash flow forecasting and working capital management
- Monitor financing needs in coordination with the Group CFO
- Ensure treasury compliance and financial controls
- Manage banking relationships and negotiate banking terms
- Safeguard financial flows and internal financial security
4. Finance Systems & Transformation
- Evaluate and implement finance systems and technologies
- Modernize reporting infrastructure
- Increase automation and reduce manual inefficiencies
- Align North American finance tools with global Groupe EDH standards
5. Internal Controls & Compliance
- Design and maintain strong internal control frameworks
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and financial standards
- Document and enforce finance policies and procedures
- Reduce risk while enabling growth
6. Tax Oversight
- Monitor tax developments and ensure proactive compliance
- Supervise tax filings and required declarations
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and legal counsel
Who You Are
- 7/10 years of experience in finance, ideally Big Four (or similar) and corporate experience in financial control (or similar function)
- Strong skills in accounting, financial controlling, budgeting, and cash flow management
- Experience managing monthly closings and delivering reporting
- Diplomatic, capable of structuring, driving financial discipline and leading projects
- Hands-on, business-oriented, and familiary in an operational environment
- Excellent communication, able to work with non-financial stakeholders
- Autonomous, accountable, and comfortable with dual reporting lines
Salary : $110,000 - $150,000
