The Project Manager is responsible for independently managing multiple commercial building projects from contract handoff through final completion. This role requires strong construction knowledge, leadership, financial awareness, and the ability to coordinate effectively across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, field operations, customers, and subcontractors.

What You’ll Do

As a Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of multiple projects, including larger or more complex projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to GNB quality standards and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently plan, organize, and manage multiple steel-framed, tension-fabric building projects from project handoff through completion.
  • Review contracts, project scope, drawings, specifications, schedules, and customer requirements prior to project execution.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, budgets, and overall project execution plans.
  • Coordinate engineering, design, manufacturing, procurement, shipping, and field installation activities.
  • Work closely with Commercial Construction Managers, Superintendents, Lead Hands, subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Manage project permitting requirements and coordinate required documentation.
  • Procure and coordinate materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project resources.
  • Monitor project costs, labor, materials, and overall budget performance; identify potential cost or schedule impacts early.
  • Manage change orders, scope changes, project documentation, and customer approvals.
  • Oversee project invoicing and ensure billing milestones are completed accurately and on time.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle and maintain professional customer relationships.
  • Identify project risks and proactively develop solutions to prevent delays, cost overruns, or quality issues.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, engineering documents, specifications, and project plans.
  • Coordinate project closeout, punch-list completion, required documentation, and customer turnover.
  • Maintain and promote GNB’s safety standards on every project and ensure site-specific Health & Safety requirements are addressed.
  • Escalate significant contractual, financial, scheduling, or customer concerns to department leadership.
  • Travel to project sites throughout the U.S. and Canada as required.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

What You Bring

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • 3 years of commercial construction project management experience, preferably involving structural steel, pre-engineered buildings, industrial buildings, or similar construction.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, engineering plans, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, change orders, procurement, subcontractors, and customer communication.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction sequencing and field operations.
  • Proven leadership, decision-making, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of commercial construction safety standards and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with computers and project management software.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineering, manufacturing, construction, sales, and customers.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, accountable, and self-driven.
