We're looking for a proactive, results driven Field Technician who enjoys getting out in the field, solving problems, and making an impact. The ideal candidate has 1 to 3 years of technical experience, preferably working with heavy duty vehicles, electronics, or related systems.
This is a dynamic role that offers the opportunity to work at customer sites across the country, experience different operations firsthand, and tackle unique technical challenges every day.
Responsibilities include system installation, equipment troubleshooting, documentation, reporting, and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure successful deployments and customer satisfaction.

We're looking for someone with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail. In this role, you'll work closely with our Customer Success, Operations, and Engineering teams to support customers and ensure successful deployments of our hardware solutions. The ideal candidate has a background in electronic systems, heavy-duty vehicles, and low-voltage technologies.

Our clients run transit buses nationwide (we have 50 locations). Your job will involve at least 80-90% travel, so please make sure you like to travel! Coordination with other departments (Project Managers, Procurement & Production, Field Services, SW Engineering, Product, etc.).

Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct site surveys and gather the information needed to prepare for successful installations.
- Effectively manage time, travel schedules, and project priorities to ensure installations and service activities are completed on schedule.
- Review project documentation, including Statements of Work (SOW), and complete field work according to established requirements and procedures.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair onboard hardware and integrated systems on transit vehicles.
- Communicate directly with customers on site to coordinate vehicle availability, provide basic training, and ensure a positive customer experience.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with Operations, Engineering, and Customer Success teams by providing project updates, escalating issues, and documenting field observations and lessons learned.
- Document installation activities, complete field reports, and capture installation photos and other required records.
- Provide regular updates to internal teams regarding project status, installation progress, customer concerns, and technical issues.
- Understand and work with vehicle electrical systems, including power sources, fuses, converters, and related components.
- Collaborate with third party contractors and verify installation quality meets company standards.
- Track and manage inventory of parts, equipment, and materials assigned to projects.
- Verify onsite inventory and confirm all required equipment has been received before installation activities begin.
- Work closely with Operations and Engineering teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve field issues.
- Inspect and validate vehicles prior to installation projects, identifying potential concerns and collecting information needed for project planning.
