Duties
- Supervise and manage construction crews, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide daily operations and ensure accurate execution of construction plans.
- Coordinate construction schedules using advanced project management skills to meet deadlines.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor safety compliance with OSHA standards and federal construction safety regulations.
- Review construction drawings and schematics for accuracy; oversee quality control measures to uphold high standards of workmanship.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors; review contracts and oversee procurement processes to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Lead safety meetings, enforce safety protocols including OSHA regulations, and maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Oversee budgeting activities related to labor, materials, and equipment; assist in construction estimating and cost management efforts.
- Utilize construction management software and other tools for project scheduling and documentation.
- Manage project documentation including daily reports, incident logs, change orders, and compliance records.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in heavy civil or commercial construction management with a strong background in supervising teams on projects.
- Knowledge of construction regulations including OSHA standards and federal safety requirements.
- Skilled in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing crews in a fast-paced environment; excellent managerial communication skills are essential.
- Ability to review contracts and manage subcontractor relationships effectively.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and budgeting practices.
- Knowledge of construction safety management practices including OSHA compliance procedures.
- Hands-on experience with construction site operations including use of tools like ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting when necessary.
- Valid certifications such as OSHA 10/30-hour training or higher are preferred; relevant experience in residential subdivisions is a plus.
