Are you a current college student with ambitions to build a career in Formula 1? GM Performance Power Units is proud to announce the launch of new student opportunities for driven, passionate individuals ready to take their first step into the world of motorsport.
With placements available across a range of technical teams, students will gain hands-on experience and play a meaningful role in the development of the Cadillac Formula 1 power unit—working at the cutting edge of performance and innovation.
Upcoming Opportunities Include
Co-Ops
Semester-long assignment at GM Performance Power Units, alternated with semesters of full time coursework. Students will generally complete two-three rotations based on university graduation requirements and company needs.
One-Year Placements
Full-time, 12-month assignments with a designated team at GM Performance Power Units.

Important Information
- Applicants must have valid work authorization and current residency in the United States.
- Co-ops and one-year placements are full-time roles (40 hours per week) lasting from a single semester up to one year and may delay graduation for students currently enrolled in school. By registering your interest, you confirm your ability to work in the designated time frame. Specifics to be discussed during the screening process.
- Opportunities are open to current and recent undergraduate and graduate level students
- Students will report daily on-site in Concord, North Carolina
- Interested students should submit a resume and cover letter.
- The cover letter should include the following information:
- Preferred placement type: co-op, one-year placement, or either
- Details of whether your college offers these programs as part of their curriculum, including any relevant details
- Summary of motorsport and/or Formula 1–related experience
- Explanation of your interest in the role(s)
- Preferred technical or specialty areas (e.g., design, simulation, additive manufacturing, testing, etc.)
- Experience, projects, academic classes in this area
- Preferred semester start date
