Responsibilities
About the Role:
The Accountant I prepares journal entries, routine reconciliations, and analyzes trends and costs to validate results. This team member relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish job functions. The Accountant I works independently with general supervision and interacts with other departments and/or external parties when directed to fulfill position requirements.
JOB DUTIES
- Prepare and input journal entries
- Calculate and validate accruals
- Prepare monthly/weekly schedules and management reports
- Prepare reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts
- Research and document reconciling items
- Assist with the preparation of external and internal audit schedules
- Assist with documentation and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
- Question unusual / non-routine transactions
Qualifications

- Working knowledge of financial statements
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

- Possess the skills necessary to operate various office equipment
Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Accounting/Finance with strong Accounting emphasis or equivalent experience required
- 0-2 years experience in public or general accounting required
