Summary

The Community Residence Program Manager (PM) works to ensure that quality childcare services are delivered within the Office of Mental Health residential group care facility according to agency policy and all applicable state and federal regulations. This directive includes development of the staff and ensuring the continuity and quality of service to the residents. The Program Manager is responsible for completing the implementation of departmental goals and programs. By demonstrating our values and delivering exceptional results, the incumbent will contribute to the Glove House high-performance culture. This ensures that Glove House remains a leading provider of child, family and behavioral health solutions.

Primary Job Functions

  • Provides the overall oversight to the residential program, supervision of staff in the care of youth in accordance with all Glove House, state and regulatory requirements.
  • Is guided by organizational values and trauma informed practice in all interactions.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the four dimensions of safety and can identify gaps.
  • Treats all children, families, staff and ancillary providers with respect and courtesy.
  • Demonstrates and models sensitivity to the cultural background of children, families and co-workers.
  • Ensures job-related activities follow Glove House policies and procedures and Federal and State regulations and relevant professional association, ethical standards, accreditation standards and the law.
  • Provides daily interaction with staff and clients ensuring services are delivered in accordance with the Glove House operating modality (TCI), youth’s treatment plan, calendars and schedules.
  • Assists staff and resident support in crisis situations including post-crisis response.
  • Responsible for hiring, coaching, training, evaluation of RCII staff and assists with RCI and per diem staff.
  • Directly supervises and provides coaching to Residential Counselors, Sr. Counselors, Nurse, Social Worker, and all CR staff.
  • Assigns and ensures adequate staff coverage is scheduled for the residential program, assumes RC responsibilities when no RC coverage is available.
  • Ensures all documentation is completed in a timely fashion i.e. youth notes, myEvolv, Class I and II etc.
  • Actively participates as a member of co-leadership team.
  • Consistently attends staff meetings and provides leadership, agenda and coaching during team/staff meetings.
  • Ensures that RC staff are up to date with compliance and training requirements (TCI, CPR, physical, driver license, staff training, etc.).
  • Regularly engages with County SPOAs to maintain active waitlist for potential future residents.
  • Participates in all Glove House strategic planning goals, including risk management and Quality Assurance plans.
  • Assists in the research and development of best practices and new initiatives to meet the changing needs of children and families in the community.
  • Contributes to an engaging, positive work environment.
  • Consistently attends mandated agency and departmental meetings and participates on standing agency committees and community committees as assigned.
  • Represents Glove House at state and local forums developing collaborative relations with other stakeholders in the community and promoting the interests of the agency.
  • Safely travel on agency business as required by job demands. Maintain accurate mileage documentation and submit in required agency timeframes.

Job Qualifications

Education, Licenses and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred; bachelor’s degree required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record in accordance with agency standards.
  • 5 years direct experience working with children and families.
  • Supervisory experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Community resources, TCI principles, Trauma Informed Care Practices, strong understanding of State and Federal regulations.
  • Perform under high demands in fast-paced, diverse environment.
  • Handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Perform at a high level of autonomy with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence utilizing computer and standard Microsoft Office software; learn new computer applications as needed (i.e., myEvolve, Paylocity, etc.)
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients; potential residents, their care team, and/or their parents/guardians; and employees of organization.
  • Work on multiple tasks while maintaining a high attention to detail, accuracy and quality.
  • Set appropriate limits and boundaries with clients; act decisively to protect clients when necessary.
  • Assess and apply proper intervention strategies.
  • Identify and understand environmental stressors.
  • Recognize importance of social, economic and environmental factors in the development and resolution of personal/family problems.

Schedule Expectations

The incumbent will work a standard scheduled week; however, flexible hours may include weekends, evenings and holidays. The ability to work flexible hours is required as is the ability to provide on-call support when scheduled or to meet business needs. Travel will be as needed to conduct Glove House business-related activities. Duties of this position require 100% time at work.
