Mobile Developer III – Chicago (Hybrid) or Remote (US) – 7 Months (Remote Considered)
Seeking a skilled Mobile Developer to build a cross-platform iOS/Android app providing audio and haptic navigation assistance for visually impaired users. Great opportunity for someone experienced in React Native, accessibility, and real-time data integration.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a React Native mobile app for iOS and Android
- Integrate GPS/location services, real-time signal data, and BLE beacons
- Implement audio and haptic navigation cues with multi-language support
- Ensure accessibility compliance and screen reader compatibility
- Collaborate on UI/UX design, participate in code reviews, and maintain automated tests
- Track tasks, bugs, and progress in Jira, contributing to Agile sprints and CI/CD
Requirements:
- 5 years in mobile development (iOS & Android)
- Expert in React Native, JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience with RESTful APIs, geolocation, and real-time data
- Knowledge of accessibility standards, mobile testing frameworks, and Git
- Comfortable in Agile workflows with Jira
Preferred:
- Experience with accessibility-focused or assistive technology apps
- Familiarity with traffic systems, IoT integration, or Angular 18 for web interfaces
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $78.00 - $80.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
