Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Use lifting equipment safely to load and unload trucks and racks
- Ensure that incoming and outgoing products and quantities are correct and match bills of ladings
- Ensure incoming and outgoing products meet quality standards
- Assist other employees as needed
- Sorts steel products before loading or unloading.
- Loads and unloads steel products onto trucks.
- Uses bracing, padding, or strapping to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Ability to handle materials and equipment in a responsible manner.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to read and accurately measure products.
- Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
- Exposures encountered, loud noise, or extreme heat/cold.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- At least one year of related experience preferred.
- Experience with using forklifts, lift trucks, and cranes is highly preferred.
