IT Manager | Law Firm
Outstanding opportunity for progressive Information Technology professional. Our law firm client is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking IT Manager to lead its technology operations, in their NYC office. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of systems that support legal practice.
The ideal candidate understands the unique demands of a law firm environment—including document management, confidentiality, uptime expectations, and attorney productivity—and brings a proactive mindset with innovative ideas to modernize and optimize IT services.
You'll be responsible for:
IT Leadership in a Legal Environment
• Develop and execute an IT strategy aligned with the operational and ethical requirements of a law firm
• Partner with firm leadership and practice groups to improve technology adoption and workflow efficiency
• Identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance attorney productivity and client service delivery
• Manage IT vendors, budgets, and technology lifecycle planning
Legal Technology & Document Management
• Oversee and optimize document management and collaboration systems, with a strong focus on SharePoint for document storage, governance, and searchability
• Ensure secure handling of client data in compliance with legal confidentiality standards
• Support systems used for document production, email management, and case-related workflows
• Improve processes around document versioning, retention, and access control
Core Systems Administration
• Manage and support the firm’s core platforms:
• Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
• Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) for identity and access management
• Zoom and Zoom Phone for firm-wide communications
• Datto for backup, business continuity, and disaster recovery
• Ensure high system availability and performance across all offices
Attorney & Staff Support
• Oversee IT support services with a focus on responsiveness and minimizing downtime for attorneys
• Provide technology training and guidance tailored to legal workflows
• Continuously improve the end-user experience for attorneys and administrative staff
Required Experience
• 5– 7 years of IT experience, including leadership responsibilities
• Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment strongly preferred
• Hands-on expertise with:
• Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
• Azure Active Directory / Entra ID
• Zoom (including Zoom Phone)
• Backup and disaster recovery systems (e.g., Datto)
Technical & Legal-Focused Skills
• Strong understanding of document management, data governance, and information security in a legal context
• Experience administering and optimizing SharePoint for document-centric organizations
• Knowledge of legal industry expectations around uptime, responsiveness, and confidentiality
• Familiarity with network infrastructure, cloud environments, and endpoint management
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting multi-office law firms
• Microsoft certifications (Azure, M365, Security)
• Experience with legal-specific applications or workflows
Salary : $175,000 - $200,000
