What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Electrical Engineer position at Globus Thenken (GT Technologies)?
GT Technologies (“GT”), is a leading engineering and consulting firm serving the renewable energy and related infrastructure sectors across the U.S. and globally. We provide strategic, technical, and analytical services spanning system design, asset operations, and financial analytics
We are seeking a Project Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operational performance of solar assets under GT’s management. The role involves coordinating with O&M contractors, managing asset health through DAS platforms, and partnering with the offshore asset management team to enforce performance standards, drive uptime, and ensure issues are resolved promptly. The ideal candidate is organized with strong project management, data-driven, and comfortable working at the intersection of technical performance, operations, and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering Execution
Lead site-level electrical engineering for C&I rooftop and ground-mount solar systems across all EPC phases. Enhance delivery systems and own core deliverables including site layouts, single-line/three-line diagrams, electrical plans, load calculations, equipment specifications, and interconnection documentation to be developed by an extended team of electrical engineers. Coordinate closely with civil, structural, and project management disciplines to produce cohesive, constructible EE design packages that hold up through permitting and construction.
Code Compliance & Standards
Serve as the internal authority on NEC 2020/NEC 2023, NFPA 70E, and applicable IEEE standards (IEEE 1547, IEEE 519, IEEE C2) across all project work. Interpret and apply code requirements at both the design and review stages, flag compliance risks early, and provide guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams. Consult with our PE partner and stay current with code cycles and emerging standard updates relevant to solar and energy storage.
Deliverable Review & Quality Control
Review IFC, IFP, and IX packages with a rigorous focus on constructability, code compliance, and client-specific requirements. Ensure all outgoing deliverables meet the quality bar expected by leading developers and institutional clients. Maintain thorough documentation of review comments, issue resolutions, and key design decisions to support audit trails and project continuity.
Power Systems & Site Integration
Apply a solid power systems lens to support interconnection applications, utility coordination, and site-level electrical design decisions. Evaluate equipment sizing, protection and coordination methods, grounding design, and AC/DC system architecture. Bridge the gap between complex grid code requirements and field-executable engineering — delivering solutions that are technically sound and practically buildable.
Qualifications

- 6–8 years EE experience with meaningful solar PV / renewable focus
- Strong command of NEC 2020/2023, NFPA 70E, and relevant IEEE standards
- Proven EPC experience: C&I rooftop and ground-mount, design through construction
- Hands-on IFC, IFP, and IX deliverable review - constructability & compliance lens
- Solid power systems foundation: protection, grounding, load flow, interconnection
- Strong Communication skills
- AutoCAD, PVsyst, ETAP or equivalent design and simulation tools
Preferred
- Prior experience supporting leading solar developers and institutional or utility clients
- Familiarity with grid codes and ISO/RTO-level compliance requirements (CAISO, PJM, MISO, NYISO, ComEd/MISO equivalent)
- Exposure to BESS integration and related standards (UL 9540, NFPA 855)
- AHJ permitting experience across multiple jurisdictions
