Software Engineer II

Introduction:

Our client, a regional bank founded in 1856 and headquartered in Buffalo, New York, is seeking a Software Engineer II to join their team on a 6 month contract basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of new and existing applications to solve basic to complex problems or enhancements.

Responsibilities:

• Complete and oversee basic to complex systems analysis, design, and development
• Direct and monitor less experienced resources and coordinate development tasks
• Prepare and manage the technical component of project plans
• Participate in overall systems development direction from technical analysis to user acceptance testing
• Prepare and review test data and execute detailed test plans
• Evaluate and understand complex interrelationships among programs, interfacing applications, and platforms
• Prepare thorough technical and functional specifications and update systems documentation
• Maintain efficient operation and effectiveness of supported applications
• Recommend new technology, policies, or processes to benefit the organization
• Follow and promote use of development standards and procedures
• Understand and adhere to the Company''s risk and regulatory standards
• Maintain internal control standards and timely implementation of internal and external audit points
• Complete other related duties or projects as required

Requirements:

Required Skills:

• Experience with SAP-Ariba, SAP-Concur, and SAP-Fieldglass
• Application Development experience
• Acceptance Testing experience
• Experience in the Banking industry
• Software development skills
• Excellent communication skills

Preferred Skills:

• Prior experience in Banking and/or Financial domains

Education and Experience Required:

• Minimum of an Associate’s degree and 5 years systems analysis/application development experience, or a combined minimum of 7 years higher education and/or work experience
• Proficiency with personal computers, project management, word processing, and spreadsheet software
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
• Detail-oriented with strong lateral thinking skills

Education and Experience Preferred:

• Good understanding of the Bank''s application framework
• Advanced knowledge of applications supported and interfacing/integrated applications
• Ability to work in a team environment and autonomously
• Action-oriented and pro-active
• Advanced knowledge of the entire system to work on projects outside of normal business-as-usual

Salary : $60 - $70
