Software Engineer II
Introduction:
Our client, a regional bank founded in 1856 and headquartered in Buffalo, New York, is seeking a Software Engineer II to join their team on a 6 month contract basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of new and existing applications to solve basic to complex problems or enhancements.
Responsibilities:
- Complete and oversee basic to complex systems analysis, design, and development
- Direct and monitor less experienced resources and coordinate development tasks
- Prepare and manage the technical component of project plans
- Participate in overall systems development direction from technical analysis to user acceptance testing
- Prepare and review test data and execute detailed test plans
- Evaluate and understand complex interrelationships among programs, interfacing applications, and platforms
- Prepare thorough technical and functional specifications and update systems documentation
- Maintain efficient operation and effectiveness of supported applications
- Recommend new technology, policies, or processes to benefit the organization
- Follow and promote use of development standards and procedures
- Understand and adhere to the Company''s risk and regulatory standards
- Maintain internal control standards and timely implementation of internal and external audit points
- Complete other related duties or projects as required
Requirements:
Required Skills:
- Experience with SAP-Ariba, SAP-Concur, and SAP-Fieldglass
- Application Development experience
- Acceptance Testing experience
- Experience in the Banking industry
- Software development skills
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience in Banking and/or Financial domains
Education and Experience Required:
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree and 5 years systems analysis/application development experience, or a combined minimum of 7 years higher education and/or work experience
- Proficiency with personal computers, project management, word processing, and spreadsheet software
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
- Detail-oriented with strong lateral thinking skills
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Good understanding of the Bank''s application framework
- Advanced knowledge of applications supported and interfacing/integrated applications
- Ability to work in a team environment and autonomously
- Action-oriented and pro-active
- Advanced knowledge of the entire system to work on projects outside of normal business-as-usual
Salary : $60 - $70
