Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of aircraft airframes, engines, and systems in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including repairs, replacements, and adjustments using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, ammeters, ohmmeters, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
- Diagnose mechanical issues through root cause analysis to identify underlying problems affecting aircraft performance or safety
- Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, CAD drawings (including CATIA and AutoCAD files), and technical manuals to accurately execute repairs and modifications
- Fabricate or modify components using sheet metal fabrication techniques and welding processes to meet precise specifications
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to document work orders, track maintenance history, and schedule future inspections
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards such as AS9100 quality management system requirements and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) governing aviation maintenance
- Assist in the assembly of aircraft components and equipment repair tasks involving avionics, electrical systems, or mechanical assemblies
- Perform heavy lifting safely when handling aircraft parts or equipment during maintenance procedures
- Support calibration of tools and instruments to maintain measurement accuracy during repairs or inspections
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and signing off on repairs to certify they meet FAA regulations.
Skills
- Experience with (CFM, LEAP, & GE90 preferred)
- Extensive mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in aircraft or vehicle maintenance environments
- Proficiency with schematics, wiring diagrams, CAD software (including CATIA and AutoCAD), and technical manuals
- Strong understanding of FAA regulations (FAR Part 43 & 145), aviation safety standards, and quality management systems like AS9100
- Skilled in troubleshooting complex electrical systems using multimeters (ammeters), ohmmeters, soldering equipment, and other electronic diagnostic tools
- Experience working with power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, sheet metal fabrication techniques, calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments
- Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively to identify systemic issues impacting aircraft performance or safety
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes related to aerospace or military applications is a plus
- Knowledge of avionics systems integration and repair is desirable
- Capable of heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during maintenance tasks
- Excellent communication skills for interpreting schematics and collaborating with team members on complex repairs
- at least 5 years of experience preferred
