What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Wireless Network Engineer position at Global Technology Partners?
We are seeking an experienced Wireless Network Engineer with strong expertise in wireless networking technologies, protocols, and design. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of wireless standards, network architecture, and hands-on experience in designing and deploying wireless networks in enterprise environments.
- This is a long term Contract and 100% onsite.
- Candidate MUST be open to W2 employment.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of relevant experience in networking experience with atleast 5 years of experience in wireless networking
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP – Wireless)
- Vendor-specific certifications or training (e.g., Cisco, Arris, Ruckus)
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including OSI Model and TCP/IP.
- In-depth knowledge of wireless standards and specifications (IEEE, ANSI, 802.11 variants)
- Expertise in:
- Wireless network design and architecture
- Network topology and protocols
- Ethernet and transport technologies
- Familiarity with wireless networking devices and appliances
- Proficiency in network design and documentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Visio)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain wireless network solutions.
- Develop and optimize wireless network architecture and topology.
- Ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability of wireless networks.
- Configure and troubleshoot networking technologies including routing, switching, and bridging.
- Work with wireless protocols and standards to ensure compliance and interoperability.
- Create network diagrams and documentation using tools such as Visio.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network-related initiatives.
- Monitor network performance and resolve issues proactively.
