Success in this role requires the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, resolve technical and operational challenges, optimize resource utilization, and maintain clear communication across all stakeholders.
The ideal candidate combines strong program management fundamentals with practical manufacturing knowledge, sound commercial judgment, and a proactive approach to minimizing lead times while maintaining quality, cost, and delivery commitments.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical discipline.
- 5 years of program or project management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving low-mix, low-volume production, custom machine-shop operations, rapid prototyping, or complex assembly.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, engineering documentation, and cross-functional program execution.
- Experience coordinating schedules, materials, resources, and deliverables across engineering, procurement, production, and customer-facing teams.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Wrike, or Trello, along with ERP/MRP systems and digital production scheduling tools.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, understand assembly workflows, and engage in technical discussions with engineers and manufacturing personnel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related continuous improvement training or certification.
- Experience managing customer-specific engineering changes, custom components, prototype-to-production transitions, and tight-turnaround manufacturing programs.
- Familiarity with scope management, cost control, schedule risk assessment, and customer contract requirements.
