Process Engineer – Wire Harness & Cable Assembly
Job Summary
GlobalTec is seeking a Process Engineer to develop and optimize manufacturing processes for high-reliability wire harness and cable assemblies. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, 3 years of process engineering experience, and knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620, AS9100, or MIL-STD standards. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
Qualifications – Process Engineer
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field
- 3 years of process engineering experience
- Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Class 3 preferred), AS9100, MIL-STD/MIL-DTL
- CAD experience for harness routing (Creo, CATIA, Zuken, SolidWorks)
- Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and organizational skills
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methods
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency (ITAR compliance)
Preferred:
- Wire harness/cable assembly manufacturing experience
- Military, defense, or aerospace manufacturing experience
- Experience in high-mix or contract manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., PLEX)
Responsibilities – Process Engineer
- Develop, optimize, and maintain wire harness and cable assembly processes
- Recommend tooling, fixtures, components, and materials based on product requirements
- Support NPI activities: DFM review, BOM evaluation, and work instruction creation
- Maintain compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620, AS9100, MIL-STD, and ITAR requirements
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality issues
- Collaborate with production, quality, suppliers, and quoting teams for process improvements
- Assist with electrical testing, EMI/EMC considerations, and high-reliability assemblies
- Use CAD software for harness routing and formboard support
