Pay Rate: $28/Hr. on W2 (Without Benefits)

About the Project
This role supports a county-wide telecommunications discovery initiative as part of a phone system modernization project. The objective is to locate, test, and document inactive or “phantom” phone extensions across 41 government locations in Alameda County ahead of a system conversion from analog to Avaya.The engagement is highly field-based and requires working closely with a remote engineer and onsite staff. Contractors will support the same locations from project start through completion (target end: 5/5) to ensure continuity and accuracy.
Position Overview
The ITLS Technician will conduct on-site phone discovery and testing, identifying active but unused analog phone devices, determining associated extensions, and documenting findings by location. This role does not involve rewiring, end-user training, or system installation—only discovery, testing, and documentation.Technicians must be comfortable traveling between multiple sites in a day and working independently once processes are established.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit assigned government facilities to locate and test active but unused phone devices.
- Identify phone extensions associated with each device and document findings accurately.
- Use testing equipment to verify connectivity and functionality.
- Work with a remote engineer (C1) and onsite staff to coordinate discovery efforts.
- Document all findings in an online portal and provide nightly status summaries to project leadership.
- Maintain professionalism and explain work scope to site staff when required.
- Follow cleanliness, safety, and site access protocols at all locations.
Skills & QualificationsRequired Skills
