- Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Saturday rotation required
- Flexibility for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed
Position Overview
The Phlebotomist / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the front-line representative for patients, delivering high-quality blood collection and specimen preparation services. This role emphasizes patient trust, accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism in both clinical and forensic specimen collection settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collection safely and accurately, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established quality and safety procedures.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, professional, and compliant work environment.
- Complete required records and documentation with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, and the public.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (required)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to deliver error-free work in a fast-paced environment
- Keyboarding and data entry proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year of phlebotomy experience
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training
- Customer service experience in retail or service environments
Licensure & Certification
- State of Credentials/Licenses Required: Yes (California)
- Phlebotomy certification required (CA, NV, WA mandate)
Work Environment
- Patient Service Center and clinical settings
- Exposure to high-volume workflows with changing staffing needs
