Job Summary
The Phlebotomist – Patient Services Representative (Traveler) serves as the face of the organization to patients seeking routine care or critical diagnostic insights. This role is responsible for performing high-quality blood specimen collection and processing while ensuring accuracy, patient safety, and confidentiality.
The PSR builds trust with patients by explaining procedures clearly and performing venipuncture in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. Assignments may be at a doctor’s office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence.
- Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection duties.
- Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm proper labeling.
- Maintain required records and accurate documentation.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and commitment to process excellence.
- Promote a positive image with patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Required Experience
- 2–3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Experience with pediatric and geriatric phlebotomy.
- Must have worked reliably in environments requiring strict attendance and punctuality.

Scheduling & Work Requirements
- Flexible availability required, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.

- Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
Transportation Requirements
- Reliable transportation is required (bus, Uber, or rideshare is not considered reliable).
