Job Summary
The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative provides high-quality specimen collection and patient interaction services in a clinical setting. This role represents the face of the organization, ensuring a trustworthy and professional patient experience while performing skilled phlebotomy and following all established procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment while interacting with patients and staff.
- Confidently perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established procedures.
- Verify patient demographic information and signatures post-venipuncture to confirm proper labeling.
- Maintain required records and documentation with accuracy.
- Promote a positive organizational image to patients, clients, and the public.
- Travel to multiple locations as needed and provide coverage with minimal notice.
- Train at various locations based on trainer availability.
Required Experience
- Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience required.
Nice-to-Have Experience
- Medical assistant or paramedic training.
- Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required only in CA, NV, WA).
- Experience working independently with minimal supervision.
Required Skills
- High-level phlebotomy proficiency (pediatric & geriatric).
- Ability to perform quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
Preferred Skills
- Excellent customer focus and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to change and work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (if applicable).
