Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist III – Float represents the face of the organization to patients in diverse clinical settings, performing skilled blood collection and specimen preparation while maintaining professionalism and compassion. This role provides coverage across multiple sites and ensures high-quality service, accuracy, and patient trust in every interaction.
The Phlebotomist III – Float represents the face of the organization to patients in diverse clinical settings, performing skilled blood collection and specimen preparation while maintaining professionalism and compassion. This role provides coverage across multiple sites and ensures high-quality service, accuracy, and patient trust in every interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draw quality blood specimens from patients and prepare them for laboratory testing according to established procedures.
- Provide phlebotomy coverage at multiple locations, including Patient Service Centers (PSC), In-Office Phlebotomy, Mobile, and Long-Term Care settings.
- Lead daily activities and serve as a mentor, coach, and resource advisor for new employees.
- Act as the on-site point of contact, collaborating with leadership to ensure smooth operations.
- Deliver excellent customer service, especially in high-volume or specialized environments.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams such as Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT, Billing, and Logistics.
- Maintain confidentiality, ensure data accuracy, and practice safety in all procedures.
Required Experience:
- Minimum five (5) years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA).
Nice-to-Have Experience:
- At least 3 years working in a PSC/IOP environment.
- Prior customer service experience in healthcare, retail, or service settings.
- Data entry and keyboard proficiency.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques across diverse patient populations.
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Knowledge of laboratory testing workflows.
- Customer-focused problem-solving skills.
