Phlebotomist - 1st Shift

• Pay Rate: $17.50 – $23/hr
• Shift/Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Draw high-quality blood samples and prepare specimens for lab testing following established procedures.
• Explain procedures to patients in a clear, professional, and reassuring manner.
• Ensure accuracy in patient demographic verification and labeling, including post-venipuncture signatures.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Demonstrate leadership behaviors and maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling patient information.
• Support multiple service locations as needed, including PSC, IOP, and doctor’s office settings.
• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under direction of the area supervisor.
• Uphold safety standards and maintain a professional, patient-focused environment.
• Execute both forensic and clinical specimen collection duties confidently.
• Promote a positive organizational image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
• Flexible availability for weekends, holidays, on-call needs, and overtime.
• Commitment to dress code, health & safety standards, and organizational guiding principles.
• Ability to use sound judgment and follow established procedures.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
• Ability to travel to multiple locations and cover PSC/IOP sites with minimal notice.
• Strong customer focus, communication skills, adaptability, and business knowledge.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in high-volume settings.

Required Education

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA.

Required Experience

• Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

Nice-to-Have Experience

• Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
• Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred.
