Job Overview
Title: CVOR Surgical Tech
Location: Rochester, NY
Shift- Day 4x10-Hour (06:30 - 17:00)
Duration: 13 weeks
Travel Pay: $2530/weekly
Requirements:
- Specialty: Cardiovascular OR Tech / Surgical Tech
- Shift: 4x10 0630-1700
- Weekend and Oncall: 1 Call a week and one weekend a month.
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Locals accepted: No, must be more than 75 miles
- First time travelers accepted: Yes
- Charting: EPIC experience is required
- Floating: Required to float to general procedures when not busy in CVOR.
- Certification: BLS required
- 23 OR’s and 1 procedure rooms. Elective and emergency surgeries for adults and pediatric patients including a variety of service specific specialties.
Duties:
- Prepare the operating room: Ensure the OR is clean, stocked, and set up with all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Sterilize equipment: Sterilize and arrange specialized instruments and equipment, and ensure they are in good working order.
- Patient preparation: Transport the patient, prepare the surgical site, and assist with patient positioning.
- Anticipate needs: Organize supplies and ensure the surgeon's preferences are accurately reflected.
- Assist the surgical team: Pass instruments, retract tissue, and provide other direct assistance to the surgeon and the surgical team as needed.
- Maintain a sterile field: Uphold aseptic technique and strict infection control protocols throughout the procedure.
