The Insulated Support Specialist serves as a subject matter expert in gas insulated electrical equipment and provides technical training and operational guidance to field service personnel. This role focuses on developing the knowledge and capabilities of technicians responsible for installing, maintaining, and commissioning gas insulated power distribution equipment across North America.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance and training related to gas insulated electrical equipment to field-based personnel.
- Deliver technical instruction in both classroom and onsite training environments.
- Support installation, commissioning, and maintenance best practices for gas insulated electrical equipment.
- Provide mentorship and technical direction to engineering service teams.
- Assist teams with operational knowledge related to power distribution systems and electrical equipment.
- Develop and support procedures related to safety practices, including HEC and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols.
- Assist with planning and execution of work for electrical field service projects.
- Support troubleshooting and operational guidance for complex electrical systems and equipment.
- Provide remote and onsite technical consultation to field personnel.
- Assist in developing safety checklists and complex LOTO procedures.
- Collaborate with teams across the organization to support gas insulated equipment programs.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent military experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of electrical field service experience working with power distribution equipment such as gas insulated electrical equipment, switchgear, motor control centers, transformers, and power electronics.
- Experience with preventative maintenance, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and installation of electrical distribution equipment.
- Experience with Hazard Energy Control (HEC) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Electrical Contractor’s License.
- General Contractor’s License.
- Professional Engineering (PE) License.
