This role is responsible for troubleshooting production and packaging equipment, responding to maintenance calls, and supporting equipment reliability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assigned preventive and predictive maintenance in accordance with company standards, ensuring all procedures are completed accurately and thoroughly.
- Respond promptly to maintenance calls, diagnose equipment issues, and complete necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and repair material handling, production, and packaging equipment involving mechanical, electrical, and basic control systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance diagnostics and repairs on production and packaging lines.
- Utilize the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document maintenance activities and retrieve work order information.
- Develop and maintain a foundational working knowledge of PLC controls, PC-based equipment, and facility electrical distribution systems.
- Support and mentor less experienced maintenance team members by providing guidance on equipment operation and care.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, actively participating in safety training and committees.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Maintenance Engineering Technology preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of light-industrial maintenance experience required
- Working knowledge of:
- Mechanical systems, power transmission, and conveyor systems
- Motors and motor control methods
- Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques
- Production and packaging equipment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, shop drawings, and maintenance manuals.
- Ability to weld, burn, and solder.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to mentor and support other employees.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.
- Manual dexterity to safely operate tools, machinery, and controls.
- Ability to move freely throughout the production environment and respond quickly to equipment needs.
- Industrial manufacturing/bakery environment with exposure to high temperatures, loud machinery, and food production aromas.
- Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is required.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, hairnets, and safety glasses, is mandatory.
